If you are itching to get away this spring, but can’t or don’t want to spend big, you can still plan a great getaway.
Budget everything: Set a budget for how much you can afford to spend on your trip, including airfare, lodging, anything you might need to buy in advance, as well on-site costs like food and drinks, and activities. To help stay on budget, you can set a spending limit in each category.
Be smart about the destination: Booking early can find you the best deals. But it might be too late for that. If you haven’t finalized plans, try looking for off-season destinations to help save money, or pick a location that doesn’t require flying since airfare often gets costlier closer to the fly date.
Don’t go it alone: While traveling solo has become increasingly popular, drawing on your network of family and friends can help you stay on budget. Perhaps your trip is visiting someone in another city who can host you, eliminating the need to pay for a hotel, and instead allowing you to pay for dinner as a thank you.
Earnings season is in the rear-view mirror, so what’s next? We have a jobs week coming up and a last bit of Fedspeak before the next quiet period. Here’s what’s ahead on Wall Street.
