It has been a summer of record numbers of travelers but if you’re already thinking about your next trip, you’re in luck: Wallet-friendly flights are on the horizon once again this coming fall.
Budget airlines like JetBlue (JBLU), Spirit (SAVE), and Frontier (ULCC) are offering short-distance flights for as little as $39. But the deals aren’t limited to just the low-cost airlines. Alaska Airlines (ALK) invites you to book a one-way flight to Mexico or Central America for as little as $115. Or, if Paris is more your speed, American Airlines (AAL) can get you there for a mere $230 round trip.
It’s The Season
Limited travel during the pandemic has fueled demand for getaways, while business travel has yet to rebound to its pre-pandemic levels. Still, airlines need to fill their seats, thus in come the discounts, coinciding with an already typical time for lower airfares in autumn.

Everyone likes saving on flights, but this year, airlines have more factors to juggle than just getting travelers into their planes. Pilot shortages, strikes and the high cost of jet fuel are adding strains. While the first two factors could hamper the availability of flights, the latter one could mean airlines will pass down costs through higher ticket prices.
