Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce’s New Favorite AI Startup

The Raise

Typeface, a generative AI startup geared toward enterprise clients, just raised $100 million in a Series B round led by Salesforce Ventures (CRM). Other investors in the round include Lightspeed Venture Partners, Madrona, and Menlo Ventures, along with GV (GOOGL) and M12 (MSFT).

The latest round brings the buzzy AI startup’s total raised to $165 million and valuation to $1 billion.

Typeface was founded in 2022 by the former CTO of Adobe (ADBE), Abhay Parasnis. It plans to differentiate itself in the generative AI space by offering companies comprehensive tools to create AI content, while prioritizing brand governance and content safety.

Artificial Ingenuity

Typeface offers a comprehensive solution to help marketers create text and visual content.

The company promises marketers the capability to create a custom AI-generated product image, description, and Instagram caption to announce it — all within seconds. The platform also lets users upload brand guides, enabling the algorithm to learn and mirror the look and voice of the brand.

Typeface’s AI tool is also designed to integrate easily into existing apps and systems, enabling content marketers to leverage AI across their preferred suite of tools.

One-Machine Marketing

The use cases for Typeface’s platform are borderline comprehensive. It could be leveraged to create blogs, image and text social media posts, emails, product descriptions, and more.

But, according to Parasnis, what sets Typeface aside from other competitors offering one-stop shops for AI-generated content is the company’s emphasis on brand governance. The platform caters explicitly to enterprise clients by using a dedicated AI model for each customer, supposedly ensuring their brand assets and activity remain private.

With AI dominating the venture zeitgeist and an enterprise-friendly model to boot, it may be no surprise Typeface has already inked partnerships with Salesforce and Google Cloud. But its waitlist is open to everyone from founders to marketers to sales. If you’ve been on the lookout for an all-inclusive AI tool to help get your project off the ground, Typeface may be worth a look.
