Rising Job Growth

The rise of remote work has leveled the playing field and allowed both companies and employees to relocate to new cities – leading to job growth in several key cities across the U.S.

One beneficiary of the pandemic-era migration trends, inspired by both jobs and a more affordable cost of living and housing, has been America’s southwest, sometimes called the Sunbelt. Job growth in the region has been skyrocketing.

The five cities with the highest job growth since 2018, as well as those with recent jumps in job growth are located in the Sunbelt region:

•   Dallas

•   Houston

•   Phoenix

•   Austin

•   Atlanta

And new additions

•   Albuquerque

•   Jackson

•   Huntsville

As the hiring needs in smaller markets rise, prospective workers could also see more competitive salaries. Meanwhile, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York have been seeing a relative exodus of workers, where on average higher salaries have to keep up with high costs of living.
