Can AI Close the Women’s Health Data Gap?

Health tech startup Cercle uses artificial intelligence to help advance women’s health, and fertility care.

The startup, which officially launched earlier this week, is backed by former Meta (META) COO Sheryl Sandberg, among others. Cercle has also secured key partnerships with genetics company Eurofins Genoma, and U.S. Fertility, the nation’s largest physician-led fertility network.

AI Meets Medicine

Cercle leverages artificial intelligence to standardize the organization of unstructured data, such as medical records and test results.

The startup hopes to make it easier for doctors and researchers to develop personalized treatment plans, and research pharmaceuticals, through better accessibility of anonymized information about patients with similar cases.

Cercle in Action

Cercle maintains its platform will be HIPAA compliant, and all its data anonymized, in order to allow physicians to study results without access to sensitive or personal information.

Ultimately, Cercle’s ambition is to empower women to make more informed health decisions. The federal government didn’t require women to be included in clinical research studies until 1993, leaving accurate diagnoses and effective treatments more difficult to identify. Cercle’s elevation of data aims to close that gap.
