Bear in mind, though, that your agent will need to be paid for these services, and you might be the one footing the bill. Although in the past it was common for sellers to cover agents’ commission, you will now need to have a representation agreement with your agent, defining compensation, before touring homes. You can still ask the home’s owner to pay your agent’s fee as a negotiation tactic, but you can’t count on it happening, particularly with a FSBO home where the seller isn’t paying an agent of their own.
