The projections, range of expected outcomes or other information presented above regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results, and should not be construed as a guarantee of any return. Investing involves risk and there is always the potential of losing money.

The illustrated analytic uses Monte Carlo simulation to estimate the probability of a range of potential outcomes, which does not account for prospective investment manager decision making. This statistical simulation runs thousands of individual scenarios based upon the forecasted, pre-tax expected returns and the anticipated standard deviation of returns of the hypothetical, back-tested investment portfolio. Tolerance bands are established chronologically at the 25th and 75th percentile of these cumulative return scenarios as probability constraints. The simulation represents a range of potential outcomes that fits within the pattern of anticipated standard deviation and expected portfolio returns. The results of this simulation may vary each time it is run. Actual results may significantly differ from the hypothetical expected return range being presented.

An initial portfolio investment of $10,000, and a $500 monthly contribution, and purchase of underlying securities at prevailing market values are assumed. The impact of fees has been excluded from the simulation. Selected portfolio investments will be in exchange traded funds (ETFs). Read the Prospectus of each fund before investing.

Common questions

Q: What is the minimum amount to invest?
+

We believe that investing should be available to all that can afford to do so, so we’ve kept the minimum low—just $100. There is no minimum holding period and you can withdraw your money at any time. Of course, if you have a retirement account there may be tax consequences for withdrawing your money, so be sure to talk to your tax advisor.

Q: How often will my portfolio be rebalanced?
+

Rebalancing is when we sell some the ETFs that have gone up in value and buy more of the ones that went down in order to keep your portfolio close to its original mix of investments (called the “neutral allocation”). It is important to do this periodically. We will look at portfolios at least quarterly to see if any one asset is more than 5 percentage points off its neutral allocation (called a “tolerance band”). If so, we’ll rebalance the account. We might do it more often if, for example, there is a big move in one asset class, or if we decide to change the mix of the funds in the portfolio.

Q: Can I roll over an existing retirement account?
+

Yes you can! Any existing retirement accounts like 401(k) or IRAs can be rolled over to a SoFi Wealth retirement account. You’ll need to contact your existing broker to facilitate the money movement.
